Observations

I had been to most of Europe, but never to eastern Europe or a fsu country. I had decided on the Ukraine for more than one reason, but mostly for the culture and the people. Not knowing what to expect I planned a trip there for about 3 weeks and I must say I was surprised. Lots of what I read was completely the opposite of what i had found there. Kiev: a large, old city (a little expensive), but full of culture and great people. Lugansk: an old city, but again much culture and the people.

Pros and Cons

Pros:People, food, culture and landscape.
Cons:A little dirty, old and not enough places to stay.
In a nutshell:I'm going back in 2003

MIchael... do you know the cost of the 1st class compartment. When I go, I would like to travel in privacy to be able to rest and spend time chatting in private with my lady friend. Jeff
