Taxi fares in Folkestone are not cheap, for example a 3 mile trip from my house to the town center costs an average of ?5 pounds. If you do have to use a taxi try to avoid them after middnight, some taxi firms charge double. Agood tip is to book your taxi in advance, then you will only be charged single fare.

Warnings Or Dangers: THE TOE TEST
Tip Rating: |

This is Folkestone beach with the pier on the left, it all looks very inviting on a warm summers day doesn't it. But don't be fooled, swimming in the English channel is more of a chalenge than a pleasent afternoon dip. There is only one way i can truthfully discribe the feeling (BLOODY FREEZING). Now thats where the toe test comes in handy, this experiment has been scientifically tested by my good self and it works very well. Heres what you do, first stick your big toe in the sea and if it turns blue and falls off then its far to cold hahahahaha. Thats it folks, it don't get any warmer than that hehehehe.
