ALANYA, BEAUTY FROM ABOVE Alanya is another one of those small sleepy fishing towns that has grown over the years in to one of Turkey's largest tourist towns. There is an average of 200,000 people living in Alanya at the moment and when the season starts this grows to a stagering 800,000 people so if you don't like crowds you have come to the wrong place. Alanya has 2 main beaches, the best being the one in the photo, which is cleopatras beach, the other one is not so good, it has a lot of rocks and is very awkward when you go swimming. Both beaches are seporated by a beautifull fortress called the KALE which you can see anywhere in Alanya, i will explain all about this fortress in my must see activaties. So all in all this was a great place to visit, and my only moan would be, it got a little to crowded for my likeing. Go early in the season or late to avoid the crowds. |
| CLEOPATRA BEACH AND THE COASTLINE |
| | ALANYA AND ITS COASTLINE Alanya is dominated by its fortress and is a very spectacular sight by day and night. From here you can see the whole of Alanya and beyond, and what a view it is, its actually higher than it looks on the photos, but there again photos never do a place justice do they |
THE HIGH CLIFFS FROM THE FORTRESS A beautiful shot of the cliffs reaching down to the sea. This is a popular stop off point for boats because of the caves that run along this part of the cliffs, great place to snorkle | | | VIEW OF THE SEA FROM THE FORTRESS |

Note: I've never been to Alanya, but Ant. 2 times | Tamina Tue Nov 6, 2007 08:15 UTC You also can go to the top of the fortress by municpal bus- It starts at the Damlataş Mağarası (cave) near the tourist office. The price is 1 YTL (0,60 Eur). My tip: go up by bus and down by walk. It´s a nice walk. | Jacobine Sat May 12, 2007 18:10 UTC I've been there more then once, and I can say, the food is very good and after dinner at about 22.00 oçlock the music gets louder and then the coctails become important.
