These pages are mostly about the Dim river which flows through a pritty little town called Manavgat and then on to the sea, but the river actually starts its journey way, way, inland at a town called Konya which is located 200 kilometres away. The river has been very important to this area and the farmers for hundreds of years where they have irrigated the water to grow there crops. Manavgat is a typical local town which only comes to life in the summer when thousands of tourist like myself come flooding in, i suspect in the winter when all the tourists have gone home the locals give a sigh of relief and can get back to normal lol. There are 2 main reasons for visiting Manavgat, one is the lovely waterfalls with really fast running white water and the other is for the countless boat trips that head down the river to the sea |
