For a small country Switzerland has an awful lot of worthwhile attractions. If boasts three world heritage sites alone: Bern’s historic city center which I’ve spent 3 nights in it. The second heritage site is St Gallen’s cathedral, and abbey library. And the convent of St John in Mustair.

Geneva, and lausanne swiss side, french soul

I spent a wonderful 19 days in Switzerland, had chance to visit, Geneva (geneve in French, Genf in German) Switzerland’s third-largest city, but surely the most international. One- third of the population of Geneva is from elsewhere, enjoying a prime location on Lake Geneva (lac leman), the biggest lake in the country, and it shared between France and Swiss. I started my three nights stay with city tour, had chance to see, the UN buildings, the flowers clock, the cathedrals. It has so high fountain (Jet d’Eau) located in the south bank of the lake,

From Geneva I visited Lausanne by Geneva lake, I spent few hours in the town, visited the museum of Olympic history. I read about Vieille Ville (Old Town), but all I saw the town was the lake side, and a wonderful restaurant nearby.

Zermatt, on the way to the matterhorn

I left Geneva driving for about 3 hours to Zermatt (pop 5360-elevation 1605m) one word says it all: Matterhorn. The legendry peak towers over the town, bathing ski fans and snowboarders in its benevolent glory.

Skiers and snowboarders prefer going down to climbing up. In Zermatt they enjoy virtually year-round skiing. I spent one night enjoyed hiking up after taking a cable car. I loved the way they designed their houses which made by wood.
