Leh the toilet of Ladakh....?

Once I asked a tourist "how do you like Ladakh?"
He said...ummmmua! Wonderful!
I asked: what about Leh?
He said..."Its the toilet of Ladakh"

This was when 1987....and now Leh is more commercial....more vehicles...more travel shops...(But fortunately/unfortuanately after the 11th September less tourist)

The above mentioned traveler was very much concerned about Ladakh....He was worried that these simple hermit people will be affacted by the foriegn culture of material....

Leh is the capital town of Ladakh and pivotal point for all the tours to the other remote and near regions...
Leh is the only best place in the region where you can find so called "the infrastructure for tourism/travelers". So describing Ladakh (90,000 Square Km) looking at Leh a mare 10 Km strech of populated area would be unjustified.

Ladakhi's do not use good morning/evening etc..Julley is the word that you will often hear from people.....known or unknown person...if you meet someone on the way you will be greeted with a smiling face and "JULLEY".

Julley word is for good /evening/afternoon/night.....goodbye or even thank you...

You could add some more hotels and guest houses to the webpage, and offer more info and options to visitors.
