"Baleric Bliss" a Minorca Island Travel Page by Nixter01

I have been to this Island twice now, the first time was with my parents and another family. Me and the girl I was with met so many people that we decieded to return again the following year, this was to be my first holiday abroad alone, and what excitment it was !

Menorca or Minorca as it is also known as, is one of the 3 Baleric Islands in the Mediterranean with the others being Majorca and Ibiza Lying just beneath Spain, its just over 2hrs by plane from the UK.
Its capital is Mahon, and the island is no longer than 30 miles and 9 wide.
This is a place for a laid back few weeks as it is very low on the nightlife, where we stayed in Cala Galdana there was only 1 nightclub,( which played the same music over and over again! ) and apart from that the only other entertaiment was to be found in the hotels or in the capital itself.
The weather is the same as the other Islands, it can be very warm but also can get overcast.
The sea and its beaches are the main attraction to the island, with its safe play areas and horse shoe shaped bays, it makes the ideal getaway break.

You could also anchor up and take a swim, there was no time restriction just lay back and enjoy the view !
