This is Cairo`s tower,it was bulit in 1961.It stands in the middle of Cairo, over looking the city from 185 meters high. WE bought the tickets at the gate.It is 32 egyptian pounds for non -Egyptians,kids under 6 are for free.Video camera`s must have a ticket as well :-S. The tower has a revolving restaurnt which can be included to your ticket if you wish to dine there, the ticket will be 40 egyptian pounds( about 7.5 US dollars). The best thing to me was to be able to see the Giza pyramids and the Sakara pyramids from the tower,it was an amazing view!!!!!!!!

The Egyptian Museum is situated at Tahrir square in Cairo. It was built during the reign of Khedive Abbass Helmi II in 1897, and opened on November 15, 1902. The fees to enter the muesum is 2 Egyptian pounds for the locals and for the Arabs.(not sure how much is it for other countries). Best thing when we took our kids,,my 7 years old daughter shouted"MOM LOOK.....THE PRINCE OF EGYPT!!!!" that was after seeing the animated film, she was very happy to see it all for real!

This is a historical place in Cairo,it has the Hussien Mosque and the Khan El Khalil Souk. Truely an inspiring place with all the people from all over the world gather,to tour the place or to buy a souvenir from an old antique shop,or a local person who came to worship Allah(God) in one of the city`s oldest mosques. If you wish to see the biggest crowd ever go to the Hussein at the Moulid festival(you should ask your local tour guide which date does it match your calender)because the Islamic calender is different. This is a picture of one of the buildings there.

This mosque is apart of the citadel, If you`re a woman, you will be asked to dress conservatively, other wise you will be offerd a cloak to wear before entering the mosque incase your dress was inappropriate. Make sure you take a plastic bag with you to place your shoes in,you are not allowed to enter the mosque with your shoes on,and there are no place to leave them at,and even the shelves inside the mosque are not enough for everybody. This picture shows my kids standing infront of where the Imam stands and preachs for Friday prayers.

You can rent a small boat for about 20 Egyptian pounds for half an hour ride...or you can ride with other local people for about 2 Egyptian pounds. The boat that we hired was located infront of the Hilton ramasis hotel.

The Military Museum in Cairo is famous for its rich collection and historical building which was originally a palace during the reign of Mohamed Ali, the founder of the royal family that ruled Egypt from 1805 through 1952. (www.sis.gov.eg). Since my kids will be studing this at some point in history lessons,,I thought it would be a good idea to see the museum. It was very exiting for them. check my military albums for more pictures.
