  • Eid is when Muslims all over the globe feast on the first day of (Shawwal)the month that follows the holy month of Ramadan.
This picture was taken from my house roof top, where we could see the fireworks easily from the corniche.
My nephews who were visiting from Riyadh were really excited about this........because we didn`t have to get stuck in traffic to see such a scene ;-)

  • The Jeddah fountain, donated to the city by late King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz (hence the popular name of King Fahd's Fountain) rises some 853 feet (260 meters) from the sea off Jeddah.
This fountain is the highest of its type in the world and is an unforgettable sight, specially when illuminated at night.

Around the fountain area, you can hire either a small pony for your kids or a camel.
a ride is between 10-15 Saudi Riyals.

  • Since year 2000 Jeddah started a new festival to attract local tourists from different parts of the kingdom.
The festival encludes many attractions that starts with fireworks on the Corniche front,,Circus,,,Musical shows,,,kids theatre,,,and much more.
This picture is taken from my house roof top when the firework started,,unfortunately my digital camera wasn`t fast enough to capture the big ones.

  • I always miss going to the downtown, though I live like more than 40 minutes drive away from it,,but I MUST go there in the time of the holy month of Ramadan.
Many street vendors are set at that time to sell
candies and sweets waiting for people to celebrate the ending of the holy month with the Eid festival.

  • The 110-km-long Corniche on the Red Sea is one of the city’s major attractions,There are 14 artificial lakes and 20 recreation centers. More than 120 hotels including a number of five- and three-stars, and I`m so blessed to be living just a couple of blocks away from it.
All fireworks done at the corniche are seen from my house roof top.(which helps a lot when there traffic).I should start selling tickets for this scene(LOL).
The picture below was taken on the 22/11/2003 just before a Ramadan sunset.

Just returned to see what's new since 2004. Quite a bit. Very interesting! First you made me hungry--delicious food suggestions--then you guided me to "Fitness Clubs." Not fair! lol I enjoyed your additions as much as the older ones!!!
