Wedding Reception
This is Jeddah`s most elite wedding hall,if you had the chance to be invited to attend a wedding reception there do not hesitate.
Wedding reception is almost the only way to dance the night away on live music in Jeddah, take notice in this country weddings are for women only to attend :-(
But still it is a chance to meet people and enjoy the live music preformed by local female singers, accompanied by a music band!
Well if you didn`t get a wedding invitation you can always visit the restaurant next door, check my restaurant tip it`s called(Al-multaqua).
Dress Code: Our wedding receptions can be very glamorous, wear your most expensive dresses and jewellery!
Have in mind also that wedding reception starts late nights,,really late.....about 10 p.m to 5-6 am next day so you might as well wear long lasting make up;-)

The word Leylati in Arabic means "my night" as any bride would feel!
I will place a picture from the inside of this wedding hall.
There are two halls.Laylati one is the older hall and Leylati two is the newer one,
both are amazingly beautiful.
this picture is taken in Leylati 2

Laylati Lobby

This is the entrance lobby of the hall.
Dress Code: Of course a Fancy dress and your best Jewllery or your friend`s jewllery(hehehe).
Theme: Dancing
This is one of the best places in jeddah it is a restaurant in an open air located in one of the prime areas in jeddah,,next to the water front(AL-Corniche).
it`s best visited by winter time when tempretures drop to 20C,or around 70F(this is our winter)!!!!!!
You get to be seated on high seats it`s called (Dakkah).
This restaurant opens from 1p.m till 2 a.m.
It has a wide screan playing the arabic top hit songs.or Saudi football League.(soccer league).
During the month of Ramadan it opens from sun set(when we break our fasting)til 4 or 5 am(sunrise).
Dress Code: Any Decent wear is acceptable, women may have to wear (Abaya)the local ladies outwear it`s almost like a coat but made from black silk,,NO need to cover the head!People who usually come here are open minded.
Address: Al corniech.

Haret Kan Ya Makan restaurant
A new restaurant opened in a very elegant area resembling the old Jeddah houses, something very unique.
It has an outdoor dining area, where you can see the making of the pottery. But it`s suitable for the winter time when the weather is a lot cooler.
The inside dining area has two lovels,,and if I`m not wrong the whole place is only for families and single ladies.
Shisha is also served here.
Kan ya makan, means once upon a time,,and harah or haret,,means district!!!!!!
Address: Al Hamra Dist.Passing Chamelle plaza
Directions: look at this map:

Follow the left flashing arrow, and you will find it there.

Cinima
There are many theatres inside most of the embassies in Jeddah for foreigners, but for Saudies this is the first,to tell you the truth I was more excited than my kids.
There are 3 shows,one at 5p.m.9p.m and 11p.m.
We watched Disney`s animated movie"Finding Nemo".it was in it`s origional language(English)with Arabic subtitles.
The seats were comfortable and the airconditioner was great.
I`m asuming it`s for ladies only because I have seen ladies working there(selling popcorn, snaks ect.).
But I`m not so sure,I guess you can give them a call if you would like to be accompanied by your husband.
Dress Code: The AC was cold so dress accordingly.
Address: AL Amana street
Directions: Take Al Andalus street south, continue to go straight after the Tarek ibn ziyad square,at the first light signal turn left,,it`s on your right hand side.(KING FAHAD COASTAL CITY).
