Favorite Thing: The Old part of the city, here is a picture of the cemetary called Omanna Hawwa,,or in other word"our mother Eve" where it`s believed that the name Jiddah(which means grandmother)was granted to this city because Eve was burried here.
Fondest Memory: My fondest memory of Jeddah is playing at the old city`s streets at the down town where I used to live,it had small street where no cars could pass by so it is very safe to play there with my bicycle.I also was the only one in My neighourhood who had roller skates ;-)

Favorite Thing: growing up with a family that loves to fish made me enjoy anything related to going to the beach, specially swimming & sunbathing.
Fondest Memory: My fondest memory was going camping at the sea shore with my father for fishing, we used to go fishing by night, I never caught a fish, so my father let me hold the lamp up,that was about it for my part of duty....the rest of my brothers and sisters can fish along with my father. And on the next morning I could proudly do another duty,,that is to clean the fish we caught,,have you tried it?? well it`s gorss but for a nine year old girl it was great fun!

Favorite Thing: My favorite thing about Jeddah is that it`s a cosmopolitan city, you will find many people here sharing the same green Saudi passport, yet come from all races, this had enriched our culture. In Jeddah, local people are a lot more open towards foreigners.
Fondest Memory: Hosting many dinners for pligrimages from all over the Muslim countries in our house,we had visiters from Tunis,Lebanon,Indonesia,Iraq and lots more. I remember once our door bell rang(I was about 10 years old then)and when I opend the door there was a group of 20 people or more wanting to use our toilet and have some water to drink beacause their bus had broken down (I remember they were from Turkey). And my mother, though she was sick at the time,,but she welcomed them all..she knew that Allah(God)must reward her for her generousity.

Favorite Thing: This picture was taken from my friend`s apartment on the 12th floor. The weather was hot and humid,,this is the typical weather we have in Jiddah. That`s why you`ll see the picture is kinda blurry. The huge building in the center is the Westin Hotel.
Fondest Memory: This day I swam with my friends at our mutual friend`s apartment,,it has a swimming pool on the 12th floor.all I remember is that we laughed (til we had cheek ache)at an old video of the same friend group.filmed back in 1998.This day will not be forgotten.

Favorite Thing: I could NEVER allow myself to miss the downtown(City center)by the holy month of Ramadan specially at the last 10 days/nights of it..........the locals place many vendors to sell candies and sweets for the Eid celebrations after the holy month ends. This year(2003)I made this visit with my kids at the night before Eid........ Eid to me as a child meant candy and fireworks! Ofcourse with the new clothes and the (Eidiyyah)which is small amount of money given from older members of the family for kids in order for them to buy candies and fireworks....some people give a little bigger amounts depnding on their budget ;-)
Fondest Memory: I`m placing here a picture of a local snak called (Baleela)it`s mainly chick pees served with lots of vinegar and spices and served with pickles....yummmm...you can add some hot sauce to it if you like.
