Budapest Transportation
Sort by: Most Recent | Best Rated | Author's Order

Transportation: Budapest Airport
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • 'Mode': TO
    Category: Airplane
Getting TO/AROUND: The airport is indeed the Ferihegy airport at about 20km from the centre of the city.
The 2A terminal is reserved for the Malev flights, the 2B for the other flights.

To get to the centre, several possibilities :
    - taxi : this is apparently quite challenging not to get ripped off by the non-official taxi men, be extremely careful!
    - public transport : this is possible but better know what you are doing, we've met a few travellers who have lost their afternoon trying to figure out where they were...
    - rental car : the usual companies are located at the lower level of the 2B terminal
    - mini-bus : maybe the easiest solution, for 2100ft, they will drop you directly to your hotel. The tickets can be purchased directly in the arrival hall.

    Transportation: The national company
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • 'Mode': TO
    Category: Airplane
Getting TO/AROUND: Malev airline is the national hungarian company.

Its terrace is a nice feature of the airport. You have to pay a small fee (100-200ft), pass through a security check and then you can have access to the terrace from where you can see the planes taking off and landing. A nice alternative to free-tax shops if you have some time to kill at the airport !!
That's where the picture has been shot from...
