Impressive Sainte Waudru - Mons

Impressive Sainte Waudru

Collégiale Sainte Waudru

Built in the 15th century, this massive church is since then part of the Mons landscape.
This is the heart of the religious life in Mons and where "La Chasse de Sainte-Waudru", a masterpiece of the Doudou's parade, is stored.

Typical in Belgium and North of France, a belfry ! - Mons

Typical in Belgium and North of France, a belfry !

The Belfry

This is probably the first thing you would see when arriving in Mons...
Unfortunately as long as I remember I've always known it surrounded by scaffolds, not the best things for pictures....
Hopefuly this Unesco's World Heritage Site will soon be as nice as it used to be for centuries...

Le Jardin du Maïeur

The Mayor's garden is indeed a nice little park behind the city hall, definitely worth the visit...

City Hall - Mons

City Hall

The City Hall

This is definitely the major building on the 'Grand Place'.
On the right side, you will find the famous monkey statue. Caressing its head will bring you luck for the coming year!
Don't be afraid and pass the door, we are going towards 'le jardin du Maieur'...

Address: Grand Place
