Don't forget some money

If you simply want to walk around these remainings of the ancient times, don't forget to take some money with you (only 3 millions Lira)...

I learned it the hard way: we threw our anchor in the creek and i decided to have a look on my own by swimming from the boat to the coast (which was not that close).
Once I reached the theatre, I heard someone whistling in my back, I had a look and a guy came to me and started asking "Ticket, ticket".
Well I was in swimming suit, still with my swimming glasses in one hand, I tried to explain him I had no money with me but he didn't want to understand : "go back to your boat and bring some money back".
Sure, I swimmed back to the boat but I had no time to come back!! Too bad for the ruins...

Knidos

Not far from Datca are the ruins of Knidos, one of the Dorian Hexapolis, a confederation of six cities (700BC). The other members were Kos, Kamirus, Lindos, Rhodes and Hallicarnassus (better known today as Bodrum).

Nowadays, there is nothing left there than the remainings of this prosperous time. From the creek, you still clearly see one of the two theatres but you can only imagine the legendary Aphrodite of Praxiteles statue, one of the most beautiful sculptures of antiquity...
