    The building now sheltering this famous restaurant has successively been the house of the prime minister and the ambassy of Spain.

    Unfortunately, while the weather is mild, everyone is eating on the outdoor terasse.

    The restaurant is famous for its mezzes. Even with an english menu, it is not always easy to know what to order. However the waiters are quite friendly and will give you any needed explanation.

    Favorite Dish: The mezzes of courses, hummus, goat cheese and many others delicious things I don't remember the name.

    It wasn't bad but I was not impressed by the main dishes: mostly grilled meat. Small hint: leave some space for the desert!

    As a desert, you *must* taste the 'osmaliya'. This is the turkish version of the 'knafah'.

    Unfortuantely, I don't have the address of this restaurant, you will have to ask on-site...
    According to the friend who brought us here, this it the best place in Amman to taste a mansaf.
    This is far from being a fancy restaurant, not too sure how known it is...

    Favorite Dish: A mansaf of course... This is the traditional dish eaten by the bedouin when they have something to celebrate.
    This is indeed a big plate of rice with some nuts, almonds and some boiled part of lamb.
    The important part is the "sauce" made of hot yogurt and fat that you use to water the rice...

    It has a very strong taste, very specific but it is not bad at all...

    Another of the traditional dishes you can't miss when visiting the area is knafah/ knafie.

    The best place to buy some is Habiba. There are several shops across the cities. Apparently they are quite popular and can be quite busy, be ready for a queue...

    Favorite Dish: This is a delicious dessert (pastry?) made of warm cheese topped with shredded wheat.
    Quite heavy, you will need to planify it and leave some space in your stomach ;-)
