Quiet wooden (and wooded) estate

An artistic estate founded by Mamontov in 1870, that hosted russian artists, now hosting a park and a museum complex.

Besides the buildings hosting each a separate exhibit, there are lots of trails through the woods that are enclosed in the estate.

Being there in an exceptionally warm autumn was great - calm, leaves turning gold and a museum even our two girls appreciated.

Saviour Church not made by hand

Even if I personally believe it was made by hands of the artists, it is one of the nicest of the buildings in the estate.

The interior, simple compared to many other churches is very nice, featuring paintings and ceramic tiles.

And it is the only building not built from wood...

Open air museums are much more fun...

especially when taking kids out...
