From West to East (May23-25, 2003)

Eastern European countries are always mysteries for me, however, given the complicated visa application procedure to some countries, I dropped my idea (maybe better to wait for them to upgrade themselves by joining EU :-))

The most eastern part I can go could be eastern parts of Germany. The memory of the name Leipzig might be only linked to the news on China TV (long time ago) talking about some conferences held by GDR government there...;-)

Until I read the book and find pages built by Christian (Leipzig), I realized that it is indeed a city with rich culture and history, that I would like to pay a visit.

From Maastricht (Limburg, NL), Aachen (Rhineland, D) to Leipzig (Sachsen, D), I almost went accross the whole German land, which is great for me to see some differences between east and west part of Germany, from big cities to small villages. I enjoy watching people waiting on the Hbf, sipping coffee in the sun and visiting old buildings...embeded with some stories.
