Maastricht - my second home town

My living abroad experience

Graduation Day Aug28th, 2003
So far, Maastricht is the town where I have been living the longest outside China. I will be completing my study here. Maastricht, accompanied by Mass river, has rich culture heritage with many romanic buildings. It also has beautiful natural scenes and delicious food...my most favorite things to do here: have a drink along the river bank enjoying sunshine and watch people; bike accross the centrum square (make some turnings to explore more old streets and stop by Australian Icecream shop) to the outskirt green grass area...have afteroon walk around the St.Pietersberg hill that is just behind the place I live...yuuuup...what a life! :-))

FAQ -
As a Chinese living abroad and travelling around, I am frequently asked (or challenged) by some quesiones, which more or less reflects some images/opinions about China/Chinese in some westen european's mind. I just list some here for THINK...

~Tibet issue
~China population control
~"why Chinese don't know how to bike?" (since I learned biking here. joke :-)
~Compare China with India
~Media freedom issue
~Chinese Copy issue
~Chinese refugees

I can write a documentary about "Seeing China Outside In" :-)...anyway, different people have different views...freedom to think.

My daughter lived in Houthem, just outside of Maastricht. We visited her and spent a lot of time in Maastricht.

So your graduation party was in Lanaken (La but aux Bois), I love your morals I wish more people had them. And also from me a happy Graduation. What do you think from Maastricht Carnaval? Good "personal" page.
