Restaurant Name: The North Palace
We heard about this new place that had just opened, Helga had been given a voucher for 10% off so we went along for a look !! The first person that I saw there was Bibash, Small world but I had first met this guy back in 1995 when he was manager of Tibet’s cantina, I then met him again last year when he was managing The Organic Green Organic Café, I knew that the food had been Excellent in these two establishments so I was Pleased to see him !! The food indeed was Excellent, I went for Fish & Chips, Not always the best idea in Kathmandu with all the power cuts making deep freezes less than ideal, But I am Pleased to say The fish was Wonderful, a Really good meal, We went back there again after the trekking trip and again were rewarded with an excellent meal. Prices are Very Reasonable. If you miss this excellent little restaurant then its your loss !!

Restaurant Name: “Once Upon a Time”
“Once Upon a Time” Restaurant in Pokhara is one of the more well established places, in fact the 1st time I used this restaurant was back in 1995 !! Centrally located right in the heart of Lake Side, It offers an Extensive Menu, The food is Excellent, Friendly Service and the Upstairs Terrace is a Great Place for People Watching. Prices are very fair, a maybe a little above average but the quality of the food more than makes up fro this. If you are looking for a Great meal in Pokhara then this restaurant makes a good choice

Restaurant Name: Green Organic Café and Salad bar
This place is managed by the same guy who used to run “Tibet’s Cantina” – and since he left that place has since closed !! So that must say something about the mans restaurant skills !! On the same street as The Kathmandu Guest House, Same side of the road in the direction of Durbar Square. Excellent Menu, Friendly Efficient Staff, Outside Terrace for those warmer Evenings. Just Great Food at a fair price – Try It !! I was back here in 2008 and it is still good, not quite as good as it was in 2007, probably because it has changed hands, But still woth a visit -- Try the Falafel !!

AM / PM Organic Cafe: Great Little Cafe at Lakeside Pokhara

Restaurant Name: AM / PM Organic Cafe
This Great Little Cafe is just up a side street from the main Lakeside road ( The same road as the Gauri Shanker Guest-House ). It also doubles up as a German bakery and Does GREAT Coffee !! Prices are Very Reasonable, Food is wonderful and the people who run it are Very Friendly !! Don't Miss It !!!! I looked in several times on my 2006 trip and am Pleased to say that this Gem of a cafe is still going strong in spite of the recent downturn in tourism !! Now Sabina is running the place on her own as her Brother is visiting his new Girlfriend in England. Sabi is a Great lass, Friendly and always has a ready smile. Lots of people seem to head here for their breakfast or lunch and with food and fresh coffee like they serve here it is Easy to see why !! I was back here again in 2008, I have to say that it wasn’t as good as before, Sabina’s brother had returned from England and is now running the café himself – maybe it is now short of the woman’s touch !! Still worth a visit though !!
Favorite Dish: Great Freshly made sandwiches with a good choice of fillings and Don't miss the Lemon Cake
