  • I wasn't Exactly sure where I should put this one ??
Sometimes on the Camino de Santiago you come across the strangest of places !! and one of these was " The Cowboy Bar " at El Ganso !!
Now you have to understand that El Ganso is a Tiny Little village right in the middle of Nowhere !! so as to why they have a Cowboy Bar -- well that's a question I can't answer ??!!??

  • Whilst walking the Camino de Santiago you pass through Many Interesting cities, towns and villages and the Architecture in some of them is Fantastic. One of Spain's Most Famous Architects was Antonio Gaudi and you will have the opportunity to see some of his work in both Leon and Astorga. His Buildings are Really Spectacular and Well Worth going to see -- So Don't Miss Them !!!

  • When we walked through Astorga Unfortunately the Cathedral was closed for the afternoon siesta and as we were wanting to get a few more miles walked we couldn't really afford the time to stay and wait for it to open again, However we did have a Good Look around the outside of this Awesome Building, The Door alone was well worth a look, Pity we didn't get to see the inside but I guess that's just life !!!!

  • Once you have reached Santiago de Compostela, as long as you can prove that you have walked enough miles you will be entitled to claim your " Compostela " This is a certificate issued by Santiago de Compostela Cathedral through the Pilgrims Office which is located at Rua de Vilar 1, Take along your Pilgrims Passport for the Proof needed that you have walked the required distance -- then you can maybe Relax for a little while !!!!!

Wow! That must have been an experience. Camino has recently become quite popular in Poland too. I remember quite a few articles about it in various newspapers and magazines. Congratulations on completing the pilgrimage even if it was 4y.ago :) !

Rob, this was a very enjoyable read and view of Santiago de Compostela. It's obvious that you enjoyed this walking tour. The cathedral is, no doubt, quite lovely. Thanks for a great vicarious experience.
