  • With the decline in the manpower needed in modern agriculture some of Spain Rural Villages and Small Towns have suffered a Huge decline in population !! However this leaves the Pilgrim with an Excellent opportunity to see how people lived many years ago !! Because of the lack of demand for houses in these villages, they have been left almost totally undeveloped !!! a Rare Chance for a glimpse back in time !!!

  • As a lot of the Refugios have you out Early in the morning you are often walking just as the sun is coming up !! and that's a Great time to get some Interesting photo's, This is one I like of the early Morning Mist, well the mist is actually in the valley below us but I think it makes a Good photo -- so Remember to keep that camera Handy, Even if the sun hasn't quite risen yet !!!!

  • You will walk through Many villages on the Camino de Santiago but in my opinion the most Beautiful of these are in Galicia, This is a Good Example of a Typical Galician Village with a rather unusual wicker Horreo

Wow! That must have been an experience. Camino has recently become quite popular in Poland too. I remember quite a few articles about it in various newspapers and magazines. Congratulations on completing the pilgrimage even if it was 4y.ago :) !

Rob, this was a very enjoyable read and view of Santiago de Compostela. It's obvious that you enjoyed this walking tour. The cathedral is, no doubt, quite lovely. Thanks for a great vicarious experience.
