General Tips: GAUTENG ,JOHANNESBURG CITY OF GOLD EGOLI.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: Gauteng,Egoli , Johannesburg or plain Joburg, home to themajor hubs of Johannesburg and Pretoria, is South Africa's smallest ,richest, most urbanized and frenetic province.

Although Gauteng is very urbanized, there is much you can do to get away from the hustle and bustle.
On a Sundaymorning you can watch a performance by dancing Lipizzaner ,the only show outside Austria.

Do take the time to visit the Cradle on Humankind, other options include visiting the Magaliesberg with its endless array of activities, take a hot air balloon ride, or paddle on the Crocodile River, go horseback riding among rhino'sand antelope, visit a diamond mine ,or try a tandem parachute jump.

Of course when in Gauteng never pass up the opportunity to go shopping, visit artgalleries and explore the city's rich cultural heritage, and sample the many coffee shops, restaurants ,pubs and clubs.

    General Tips: ROADS.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: Our road infrastructure is excellent, so driving is a viable option, but South Africa is a huge country not easily traversed in a day, so plan your journeys carefully. If you're not used to driving long distances, rather break the journey, as fatigue is a major contributing factor in motor vehicle accidents.

General Tips: GAS STATIONS FOR RE-FUELLING.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: A variety of petrol (gas) stations are situated on both main and country roads. Most of them are open 24 hours a day, although some keep shorter hours. However, distances between towns (and therefore between petrol stations) can be considerable, so it is advisable to fill up your tank before it starts giving warning signals.

South African petrol stations are not self-help: an attendant will fill the car, check oil and water and tire pressure and, if necessary, clean the windscreen – for which he or she will expect a tip of two or three rand.

    General Tips: GAME PARKS
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: Africa is a wild continent and Southern Africa has fought hard to save her wildlife. A multitude of game parks pepper the area ranging from the impossibly exclusive to the downright affordable. A trip to the Kruger National Park is well worth while ư although it is by no means the only game park worth visiting.

    General Tips: THE WEST COAST
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: The West Coast is wild, rugged, tempestuous and untamed. And any time spent here will lodge itself in the feel good centres of your being. The West Coast lets you rediscover yourself and touch the fingertip of God. Always through something small. Environmental conditions are harsh, so the miracles are minute. Extraordinary succulents no bigger than your baby fingernail. A perfect shell smaller than a pea. The pin prick of a seagull high over head. The speed with which the wind robs you of a shoutư
