There are numerous museums and monuments to be visited in Grahamstown.
There is the Albany Museum complex,Observatory Museum ,Fort Selwyn the National English Literary Museum,and the most famous one to be visited and not ever to be missed while in Grahamstown is the 1820 Settlers Monument.

The Albany Museum in Grahamstown is the second oldest in South Africa and incorporates The National History Museum exhibitions depict history of early man and the material culture of early civilisations.

Church Square is tri-angular in shape- not square, this is a legacy from the first officers who occupied the site.

Lt.Col. John Graham had ordered that the old farmhouse, which Mr.Lucas Meyer abandoned in 1810 ,should be restored and used as an officer's mess.
The officer's placed their tents on a line parallel to the line of their mess.
Once their homes were built they refused to conform with the surveyor's projected line of the High Street.Thus Grahamstown has the only Church Square,which is not square.
The Cathedral of St.Michael and St. George dominates the square.

The Eastern Star: Anglo African Street, in an old unpretentious building marked the Eastern Star is a steam driven Wharfdales printing machine, a press that causes old printers to stand in silent reverence.
For generations, this machine dominated the printing world, printing no fewer than 14 different newspapers from 6 January 1871 when The Eastern Star was formeley opened.
