Much international acclaim has been accorded to the Kruger National Park, which is regarded as the world's finest example of wildlife management. A major international tourist drawcard unrivalled in it's rich diversity,the park offers a wilderness experience which ranks with the best in Africa.
This vast area stretching 350 km from north to south,is home to great numbers and varieties of amphibians reptiles, birds and 147 mammal species, including the Big Five. The sight of elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo is always a thrill, especially at close range on a conducted wilderness trail.
Many visitors get a thrill out of spotting a kudu, warthog, or one of the eagle species. At night ,you'll be lulled to sleep by a chorus of nocturnal birds or you may share in a never to be forgotten bush experience on the Kruger night drives. |
|  | KRUGER PARK. The Kruger National Park , spreading over an area of nearly 2 million hectare, contains a large variety of wildlife including buffalo, lion , leopard, cheetah and giraffe.
There are many rest camps in the Park, air conditioned accommodation being provided in rondavels and cottages. Most of the camps have licened restaurants and shops where fresh provisions may be obtained.
There are also several hiking trails within the Park. Reservations should be made well in advance with the SA National Parks.(PHONE) 012 428 9111.
There are a number of PRIVATE GAME RESERVES situated on the western and southernsides of the Kruger National Park, including the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. These offer day and night guided tours by experienced game - rangers in open Land Rovers. Most of these reserves offer luxury accommodation. |
