This 300-year-old country estate, situated on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, is one of the region's original farms. The Cape Dutch manor house, the five-star hotel, which has 48 en-suite rooms, and the public areas, have all been restored to their original splendour. The Lanzerac is furnished with antiques and valuable paintings.

Each room has a telephone, mini-bar, electronic safe, satellite television, underfloor heating and air-conditioning. Guests have a choice of restaurants, which include traditional buffet for lunch and an à la carte menu in the Governor's Restaurant in the evenings.

The Terrace Restaurant and Taphuis Bar is for more casual dining. There are three outdoor swimming-pools and wine tasting on site. Other leisure facilities include hiking, mountain-biking and golf at a nearby course.
