Viva Las Vegas!

So This is Sin City...

We were in Las Vegas for the recent Diamond Exchange Show that was held at the Venetian Hotel. It was my first time there, and I now know I'll be returning often---an actual fact, since we purchased a week at the Grand Desert Resort, located right off the strip and minutes from Harrah's! Part of the fun during our week there was that there was a big group of us--my husband, my 21 year old daughter and 18 year old son, and my sister-in-law and her husband who arrived the next day. We ended up "chunking" the big group, with some of us choosing some very different itineraries. This ensured everybody stayed happy! One word of caution--although he found enough to entertain him, my 18 year old son did grumble a bit...absolutely understandable. The prices for the Venetian (our number one choice) soared because of the jewelry show, so we opted for the Rio Hotel. I really recommend it. It was very pretty, with its festival theme, a great "in the sky" show that is complimentary, a sensational buffet, great restaurant, a medley of pools, well-appointed rooms, a gorgeous view (even with construction), and well-situated on the strip. Vegas is all shiny and sexy and just a bit tawdry...it is really a playground for adults. There are so many things to see and do that you will run out of days before you can experience it all. Guaranteed. This; however, is a great problem to have, given the solution is to escape out here again and again...my husband and I are already making plans for our next visit, probably before the year ends. (I'll be loading some pics very soon!)

Pros:"Variety, sizzle, and pizzaz! Great restaurants at terrific prices, superb shows, some quite pricey, but worth every penny!"
Cons:"Seemed like the downtown area may be unsafe. Also, REALLY hot--think the Gates of Hell---115 degrees when I was there! Desert Weather, alright..."
In A Nutshell:"Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run..."
