Excursions with a Taxi

To take a taxi in Mauritius has some advantages.
You don't need to watch the traffic, look to the small signs for the direction, or surch a parking and you have together with the driver a good guide , who is glad to show his lovely island to you.
And the price for a daytripp is not more , than to rent a car.

My favorite Taxidriver Vassen Joottun

I always take the same taxifahrer, I would like recommend him also to you.
He lives in Cap Malheureux, is there married and has a small son.
He drives slowly, save and he is always puntually and you can admire the landescape.
He speaks English and French.

Swimming with the Dolphins

You must start early in the morning, with a taxi at 6.30 from Grand Baie.

The speedboat "My Baby" departure is at 8.00 with the skipper Alain.

It is a beautifull trip by the boat along the caostline of Mauritius with views to the mountains.

We were looking for the dolphins from the Morne Brabant and found them by Flic en Flac.

It was a big family with around 25 dolphins, they jumped in the air ,turned, it was wunderfull!
We could go in the water with snorkeling equipment and swimm with the dolphins, saw it under the water and took picture of it.

The skipper Alain told us, in 95% of the tripps we can see the dolphins, because they live in the bay.


usefull Informations

*snorkling equipment is on the boat

*If you don't see the dolfins, the skipper Alain told us, you can do the tour again for free.

*It is neccessary to book the tour in advance, because , there are only 6 places on the boat.

*After the tour you can use the shower and toilette in the Sport Isalnd Club Hotel.
