I still call Australia home...

by Winged - last update: Oct 1, 2005

Well now, I've got a whole 4096 characters to use, and what to say? I live in Adelaide, South Australia, one of the best places in the world to call home, I reckon.

I travelled a few times when I was quite young, but it's just in the last few years that I've been old enough to make my own plans, go places with my friends and not tagging along with my parents. It's exciting to think that the whole world is there and available!

I'm a quiet sort of person, but I'm such an armchair traveller that all those books about different countries have rubbed off and fills me with enthusiasm to go and see it for myself!

Some of the places I've been in the last few years include Singapore, Vanuatu, Bali, China, Samoa, and some places in Australia - all places nearby. All these have been places that I've been to because friends or family were going there; I was very glad to go but they weren't places I chose, not places on my "List of Places I Have To Visit Before I Die". At the end of the year I'm going on my first self-chosen trip: Paris and Italy, via Tokyo, three places I've always really wanted to go! Other places on that list include Peru, New York, London, Israel, Tibet, Mongolia and Russia, but hopefully I'll get around to them one day. ^_^.

My travel philosophy is that you should go where you want to go and do it the way you want to do it. If you want to go backpacking around the Himalayas for six months, staying with the locals and making your way around, or go on a luxury coach tour around Europe for 12 days through your travel agent, go for it! Everyone should have just the holiday they want!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my pages, such as they are... Have a nice day! ^_^.
