Drumheller, the dinosaur capital of the world. This place is an excellent weekend getaway and a great place to take the kiddies if you have any. With the mass amount of fossils found in this area it's no wonder that Drumheller took on the dinosaur theme so much. There are dinosaurs in the streets, excellent dinosaur museum, dinosaur theme just about everything. I did find it to be a bit lacking in the restaurant department. They have your standard fast food and the what not, but I was hoping for a bigger range in independant restaurants.

Drumheller has a population of less than 10,000 and is less than 2 hours northeast of Calgary. One thing to note that a lot of things here are seasonal so between October and April, lots of things have limited hours or are just closed.

    Your tips made very enjoyable reading and make a visit to Drumheller and area even more enticing for me! I've driven past this area so many times it is criminal - but am always on a 'mission'! One of these days!!!
