Well I originally wanted to spend much more time in Chiapas then I actually did. I took a last minute unexpected trip to Cuba that shortened my time here. I really enjoyed Chiapas. I have only been to the Yucatan area of Mexico and here. This region is a lot more like Central America and was more affordable then the Yucatan. There are no cruise ships here. Since my time here was short I was only able to do the eastern part of the state. I still got to see a bit but I want to see more and would maybe like to include this again with another trip. Chiapas is 73,887 km2 and has a population of around 4.3 million. It borders the Mexican states of Tobasco, Veracruz and Oaxaca. It also borders the Pacific Ocean and the country of Guatemala.
