The Northwest Territories are massive amount of land in northern Canada that is larger than most of the countries in the world but home to a population of less than 50,000. It borders the Yukon to the west, Nunavut to the east and British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan to the south. There are only a few places you can drive into the NWT from elsewhere but a lot of places flying or boating are the only options in regards to getting to. For the adventurer who wants to get off the beaten path, there remains a lot of places for them. In recent years the NWT has been making a lot of news for some of the worlds finest diamonds are found and being cut here. The main place people start there trip is from the capital city of Yellowknife.

Mike, sorry that I am a day late but, Happy Birthday anyway! Interesting info on this part of Canada's far north - a part of the country that I have always wanted to visit but has eluded me so far.
