    • The capital and the hub of all aspect of business for the island. It is a small relaxing town that is a perfect base to tour the island from. There is a movie theatre, various restaurants and stores to keep you busy for a day or two.

    • The southside of Rodrigues island has a huge density of coral to the point where at one point the used to dig it up and use it to make blocks for houses. Today it is protected by the government and so only a couple people make little sculptures out of the coral.

    • Mt. Limon might be the highest point on the island and if it is not it is only made a metre or two lower. It is an easy climb and the road that goes by the mountain goes really close to the summit. It offers a good view of the surrounding area.

    • At the southwest corner of the island there is fairly impressive cave. The ground seems quite flat all around then there is a hole all of a sudden. When with a guide they will point out various features that resemble famous people or places. It's an easy hike through and is a bit chilly down there so if you get cold easily you may want to bring something with long sleeves. Flash photography is not allowed inside the cave and I guess you are supposed to get a permit prior to entering the cave. I went with a local tour so everything was arranged.

    • The sand island of Ile Cocos is a nature reserve and is covered with birds and other small critters. The island is west of Rodrigues and takes over an hour to get to by a motorboat. You need a permit to visit the island but you will probaly go with a tour and they will have that arranged. Overnight camping is not allowed on the island and there are permanent guards (I guess you can call them guards) on the island.

    • Sorry I cannot remember any details of this church. All I do remember that there is some history for the church and is worthwhile to check out. Once you are on the island you can ask just about anybody and they can give you more information of it.

    • I just get a kick out of these small island airports. Realistically this is where you will arrive on Rodrigues. Considering the location it is a fairly nice airport.
