    • I don't remember the name of the hotel but it is located right next to the north dock. It is a place to stay if you can't get a room at the Storyboard Resort. It is basic accomodations with decent beds and no tv. It kind of reminds me of going up to the farm when I was young. It is a double story building with a restaurant right next to it. The best quality point about this place was it had good water pressure so there was always good hot strong showers. It cost $55 US for two of us.

     Today was both a sad and happy one for me. I was able to figure out that my cousin was killed on Peleliu on 18 Oct 1944. Also thanks to your tips I know I too will be able to visit the battlefield.

     A fascinating page on your explorations of this remote island! Amazing that so many relics are still lying around. Some 25 years ago I came across similar Japanese war relics in 'nearby' Rabaul and Wewak, while I was working in Papua New Guinea.
