Rome to Vatican City

by ethereal - last update: Dec 23, 2002

Walk rather than metro

I spent four days in Rome last summer, and the best times there were the times we ( my cousin and I ) got lost. We walked to the Vatican everyday after our trip on the Metro the first day. It was crowded, smelly, un airconditioned. I'm not putting down the metro system I just strongly advise the walk instead. We had a hostel two minutes away from the Colloseum so the walk wasn't that short. But everyday we woudl bump into something new, an archeological sight that was a cat shelter, a Polish church, and a new pizza place.
