Most people come here to get some of the best health care in the country in the Mayo clinic not for it's nightlife. It is a very conserviatve town and the Mayo clinic seems to control everything. This town is very centered on the history of the Mayo brothers and how great they were.

Rochester is divided into four quadrants: NE, NW, SE, SW. The East-West dividing line is Highway 63 or Broadway. The North-South dividing line is Center Street. Streets and avenues are numbered from these dividing intersections.

I didn't know this when I started my internship and coudn't for the life of me figure out why there were so many 1st streets and Avenues.

The drinking age in Minnesota is 21 years of age. Liquor stores are open Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sundays and holidays closed. Supermarkets and grocery stores sell 3.2 beer. Bars stop serving alcohol at 1:00 a.m. Monday-Saturday, and at midnight on Sundays.

Coming from a college town in Wisconsin these laws were a bit of a shock. In my opinion very stupid!
