Things To Do: Onsen means Hot Spring
  • Tip Rating:
  • Volcanic Islands. Eruption. Danger...

    Meanwhile enjoy all what the volcanic area can offer. Nothing better, healthy and relaxant than a day (or two) in a hot spring resort or Onsen. It's not going to be cheap. Think in 15-20 thousands yen per night including dinner and breakfast. Transportation from main train stations to the secluded area where the hot spring is located, could be available.
    Ask!!!! Always ask!!!
    Beside the public bath you can be lucky ($$$) enough to get a room with its own rotenburo, which is not more than a bath tube for you and her, open 24 hours and with a marvelous landscape around... Forget about jacuzzi!!!!
    The oriental style rocks!!!!

    Things To Do: You must see the people
  • Tip Rating:
  • Yeah... much more than geishas and samurais. And no, no jackets with dragons in the back as souvenirs, That's not very japanese thing. Watch around. Beautiful faces in sport women. Strong enough to shreed you in seconds.
    This girl is member of the All Japan Handball team, a PhD. program student at Tsukuba University and the Queen of the handball clinics for kids in the city. Yeah,
    japanese women are little bit more than "geishas"(in the western acceptance of the term). Iron will!!!!!

  • Ineluctably Japan heads toward diversity. Good for them. Good for the rest of the World.
    Every year more a more foreign kids join the great and happy mass of Japanese kids in public schools. In four years span, the two boys ( easy to identify in the middle of picture) will be the stars of the ceremony they were witnessing. Their time to say in front of everybody their dreams...
    Ah! so diverse things were said that morning: baseball players, soccer players, veterinary doctors, model, artist, painters, scientist, public servents... Public servents!!!!!!! (-;

  • Age is to a geisha what ageis to the good rum. Not many geishas around lately but the art of geishas is part of the tradition and many troupes of traditonal dancing can be appreciated along the Archipelago. Dance in a geisha customs in despite of the age, and still showing all the sensuality that a Geisha is supposed to convey it's indeed an art. Ah!!! Where did the young geishas go? Rochelle where are you? (-;

    But wai... This is not a Geisha no t even she is representing a geisha in stage... Wait! Wait!! this is traditional make up for theather artist and dancers...
    How to explain a weterner that she is not a geisha? Impossible!!! The image is too strong: Japanese woman in kimono= geisha. So there!!! (-;

     Yes, older indeed. Wiser perhaps? Not necessarily... One thing is sure - life is about to change. I hope we can handle it!
