The song of Luis Mariano is part of the old Venezuela way of being. The country changed in a dramtic way when corruption penetrated all levels and all social strates during the year of the "Saudi" Venezuela(1973-1978); a term i do realize is derogatory to our friends of L'Arabia but it was used to show the way that our "leaders" (political, economical and social) behaved when the gigant oil revenues poured into the National Arks. Needless to say how the money was used and where those "leaders" are enjoying it nowadays.
But the song of Luis Mariano is the real Venezuela. My Venezuela. The Venezuela of friendly and honest people, the Venezuela that cares for nature and the Venezuela that someday will become a Field of Harmony, as he wanted, and as we want.
