At 6:00 am. we leave Bangkok for Koh Chang, the second largest island in Thailand. We took the pick-up coach arranged by our resort and spent 2.5 hours on the highway and reached pier near Trat, then 30-minute ferry to the green Island - Koh Chang (Ko Chang) |

| | Introduction to Koh Chang Situated 8km off the coast of Trat and measuring 30km long and 8km across at its wides point, Koh Chang has only a sparse population (mostly fishermen), no towns and scarcely any road. It is the principal isle in the 52-island archipelago which frms Mu Ko Chang Marine National Park, established as a nature preserve in 1982.
Koh Chang itself has a mountainous interior which account for the name "Elephant Island"; a fanciful notion has it that from a distance the mountain ridges look like the backs of several elephants. |
