Capital of the Old Dominion- Sic Semper Tyrannis Welcome to my home town: Richmond is the capital of Virginia. The city, centered on the fall line of the James River, was founded by early settlers as the western most deep water port. Even today, there is a good amount of overseas commerce that takes place at Deep Water Terminal. The Peidmont (rolling hills) area enjoys four distinct seasons each lasting approximately three months. The city is rich in history dating all the way back to the colonial era. For Europeans, this is yesterday, but for Americans it qualifies as ancient history. I can not possibly include everything that I know about this city in this page. Please feel free to contact me if you are visiting Richmond. |
