"Moose Hunt" a Grand Lake Travel Page by Callavetta

We decided to go on a Moose Hunt today. Actually, we wanted to go yesterday, but inclement weather required that we put the trip off a day. A Blizzard created white out road conditions. Today was sunny and bright (albiet COLD) so we headed out from Keystone to Grand Lake, a 2 hour drive.

There were lots of icy spots on the road so the drive was nerve wracking, but Jill did a great job. I have been past Grand Lake, on my way to RMNP, but have never taken the turn into the town. What a charming little place it is. Very western in flavor and nestled at the end of Granby Lake, the town is full of charming B&Bs, inns, shops and restaurants. There's an old theater where visitors can enjoy live melodrama. In the summer there are boat rentals. In the winter there are snowmobile rentals. There are snowmobile trails that take riders into RMNP, through trees, along frozen lakes, and over bumps and dips. It really looks like fun.

Downtown is full of restaurants, shops, and cute little places to stay.
