Fairplay is more than a speed trap on way to Hoosier Pass (although DO take care, the Fairplay police lie in wait for unsuspected travelers who don't notice the huge drop in speedlimit!). Dating back to 1858, this small town has several restored log cabins and remnants of the mining days.
Fairplay also holds the South Park (this is Park Co.... no relation to the cartoon) Museum, a restored 1880's mining town.

- Cons:Beware of the Fairplay police with his radar gun

what is also nice about Fairplay is the beauty of South Park surrounding the town. So much nicer than the television show. And the closeness to the highest peaks of the Tenmile Range - ie Quandary Peak;-\
That is for sure a must to see in CO! Very cute little town, it looks so "original", exactly like I would imagine a wild west town! And still better if there is such a good eatery in town. Thanks to you I'll find it :-)
