Over the River and Through the Woods....

by Callavetta - last update: Jun 9, 2007

Life in the country

I didn't get to grow up here. But after my father retired my parents built a wonderfully comfortable home in Volcano, California. In the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Range, it's peaceful and lovely and a great place to visit "Grandma and Pa".
First snow of the "winter"

To Grandmother's House We Go!

3500 feet up in the toe hills of the Sierra is the perfect place to experience just enough snow to feel like winter but not enough to make life difficult.

Footprints in the Snow

This turkey better get the heck out of Dodge! Thanksgivings a commin'!

Looks like a great spot to rest up. I felt the same way about Lake Tahoe when my folks retired there. This counts as a visit? Enjoy your birthday!

Daffodil Hill looks like a colorful place to visit in the Spring--and Dad's house...the perfect spot to be for a BBQ!

Volcano! Now there's a place that is off the beaten path. Your parents must be enjoying retirement there. Melodramas and daffodils! What a wonderful Gold Rush town!
