Real Gold in Sydney

In September of 2000, I had the opportunity to travel to Sydney, Australia during the Olympics. There, I worked with a Christian organization called "RealGold". Our job was to report on all of the Christian ministries that were going on during the Olympics and put it up on a webpage. (You can see the results of our work at www.realgold.org).

I really enjoyed Sydney! The people were very friendly (G'Day, Mate!). It was springtime, which was wierd for me, given that September is an autumn month in the northern hemisphere. I enjoyed hanging out at the harbors, meeting Aussies, cheering on their athletes with them (Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oy! Oy! Oy!), etc. I also found out that Fish-n-Chips are real big down under.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Great public transportation system, friendly people, good weather, cheaper prices
In a nutshell:A Great City Down Under!

If you don't have a car to get around Sydney, no worries! They have a great metro train/bus system. Very clean and... more travel advice

Did you understand Aussies easily? My friend who studies in Sydney told me that Australian English is 'ugly'
