| Paulista Avenue Buildings |
São Paulo is a very diverse city with different ethnic neighborhoods much like Chicago where I live. The city is also quite spread out, with the main center being around Paulista Avenue. |
| | Architectually, São Paulo does not have the most picturesque buildings, although you do find the occasional interesting building like the one pictured here. I found that in Brazil, there tend to be a lot of high rise buildings, but I did not see any true "sky scrapers" that were really truely tall. The maximum height tended to be maybe 20 or 30 floors. |
Like most large cities, São Paulo has it's share of street performers. Here, a juggler performs in front of waiting traffic on Paulista Avenue.
São Paulo has a number of ethnic neighborhoods. I visited Liberdade, which is a predominately Japanese district. I was told there are also Jewish and other ethnic neighborhoods as well, but we did not have time to visit these. | | |
