NEW YORK and theAmerican Museum of Natural History

by agalta - last update: Feb 27, 2003

the first thing I love about new york

sky special
is its sky...
(ok, I guess it's not the only place where you can see a sky like this but it's something that always amazes me to find above a metropolis such as this...)
discover the wondrous underwater world!

the second thing I love most:

the
American Museum of Natural History

I don't know how many hours I can spend there exploring this immense museum. sometimes just reading a little sign can open up a whole new world! they have spectacular shows at the planetarium and there's always something going on. one of my favourite recurring exhibitions is the BUTTERFLY CONSERVATORY, where you can walk in a recreation of a tropical habitat with hundreds of butterflies flying about you... (just try to avoid weekends as they only let in a limited number of people at a time...) YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE KIDS TO GO! IT'S A GREAT PLACE TO SPEND A RAINY DAY if you don't feel like seeing the usual museums... and I feel like I'm travelling! ALSO I find it the best place to buy those little gifts for the ones who staied at home...
