And it was so hard to believe I make my first steps in Athens...a city which has been generating culture for over 3 thousand years, the city of Socrates and Plato, the city of the Modern Olympic Games...

Much has changed since then. Having visited Athens 5 times for last 3 years, I cannot see the same city anymore. I know all its merits and demerits much better and I love everything about Athens, even with its noise, rush, pollution, crazy drivers :-) and the unbelievable crowd on saturday night in Psyri...

Olympic summer 2004

I had a great chance to be a part of the world event that took place in Athens!

From the 13th to the 29th of August the city of Athens hosted the Games of the 28th Olympiad that are returning to their ancient birthplace after 108 years!
And from the 17th to the 28th of September about 4000 paralympic athletes had a competition in the 12 Paralympic Games!

Stray animals are not the problem in Athens. People are. Their attitude towards them is beyond disgusting. I am glad you mentioned this. And I am appalled that anyone would even consider spending money on a place so thoroughly undeserving of praise.
