After the Acropolis, Delphi is the most popular archaeological site in Greece. Located 180 kilometers from Athens, a trip to Delphi is listed in just about every tour.
The sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi extends over a series of terraces in the foothills of Mount Parnassos, between two enormous rocks, called the Phaidriades.
For many centuries this was the religious and spiritual centre of the ancient Greek world. According to mythology, Delphi was the geographical centre of the world, the omphalos ("navel"), the meeting point of two eagles dispatched by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the centre of the world.

Delphi is inscribed on the World Heritage List of UNESCO in 1987.

Arahova (just 12 km from Delphi) is a city famous for its beauty, its history and the legends that have come from here.
One of the best Ski Centres in Greece - Parnassos Centre - is located here.
