Bewitching scenery is the main feature of Evrytania prefecture. It is the most thickly wooded, best-watered region in Greece. There are so many fir trees in Evrytania that you think you're in the magnificent endless forest, and in fact the region has been nicknamed "The Switzerland of Greece" for this reason.

When I've discovered this region I couldn't believe I'm in Greece. At least I didn't expect to see SO much snow! Looking at this picture I remember my life in Alaska but it was Greece. Wonderful part of Greece!

Did not know the name for this area. we have travelled from west to east over these mountains and lakes. It took us two days. Never travelled on a road to match it . Thought Karpenissi modern and characterless.
