Iles de Lerins (postcard) - Île Sainte-Marguerite

Some of fresh air....

Just off the coast from Cannes are the Iles de Lerins - small archipelago with two main islands of Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat.
Cannes' beaches are usually overcrowded on summer so if you want to escape and find less people on the beach, take a boat for Sainte-Marguerite Island - the largest of the two Lerins Islands.

Beautiful photos and great tips on this little gem of an island that I had never heard of before! It looks like a great place to get away from most of the crowd!

What a great island. It would have been great to see the fort and the cell - amazing. I am glad they are protecting the island - the forests and beaches just sound great. 5000 visitors a day...wow!

For such a small place Île Sainte-Marguerite has it all Great Beaches, Pine Forest and some great history. I didn't know the "Man with the Iron Mask" was imprisoned here!

really,it seems you enjoy very much this small island...maybe,you missed the last boat to the continent?
