The main attraction of Plitvicka Jezera National Park are carst lakes, connected by waterfalls. They are divided into two groups, Upper and Lower lakes, separated by a 2-km long lake Kozjak. The highway Zagreb-Zadar runs through the park, which can be easily visited as a day trip. The entrance fee (varies depending on the season - around Eur 10-15) includes buses and boats inside the park.

We spent about 5 hours in the park and saw all the waterfalls. We arrived by car from the coast, parked at the entrance, took the bus to the station St4 (the highest), walked down along the Upper Lakes to the boat pier P2 and took the boat back to the entrance. This takes about 2 hours. Then we drove to the main entrance (5 minutes down the road), and walked around the Lower Lakes (the only road available). What we did not do is to climb a path above the falls (it is not maintained well); I assume the views must be tremendous.
